Megan Fox the mermaid... Now there's a very nice aqua-thought!

Reports claim that The Transformers star will play the lead role in a new film, a mermaid by the name of Aspen in comic-book adaptation Fathom.

Aspen is rescued from the sea when she is young and only after winning a medal in the Olympics does she realise she is part of a secret aquatic race called The Blue.

Producers of the new film are looking to get the most out of the beautiful Ms Fox's figure, and are thought to be lining up lots of Bikini shots of the 22-year-old.

A source told the Daily Star Several writers have been brought aboard to revamp the script as a vehicle for Megan, who officially signed on for the project this week,

FHM favourite Megan is currently filming Transformers sequel Revenge Of The Fallen.
