Megan McKenna And Pete Wicks Open Up About The Truth Behind Their Rekindled Relationship
It's almost enough to make us believe in love.
Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks might've had a pretty volatile relationship on The Only Way Is Essex but the couple have rekindled their romance and now seem to be in a much healthier place than ever before.
In an interview with OK! Magazine, the pair have opened up for the first time about the ups and downs they've both managed to navigate. And it looks like wedding bells and a potential baby might not be too far off in the distance.
Let's all get checking out a bunch of famous celeb couples who went on a break before patching up their romance...
On the break-up that rocked TOWIE fans across the country, Megan revealed: "I think we both thought we'd never get back together, ever. We were both so angry and needed that time apart. If we'd have got back together too soon, we would've been picking at each other constantly."
The couple actually split over a mixture of issues. At the time, Megan claimed she was only happy for 20% of their relationship, and Pete was hurt by the fact that Megan couldn't forgive him for texting model Jacqui Ryland. After a period of seperation, the pair jetted off to Las Vegas on a make-or-break trip.
"I feel like if it was going to work, we needed that proper break. We couldn't be having that rubbish where you start seeing each other again after a few days," Megan said. "After we split in March, we actually had a break. We didn't contact each other or speak at all."
Pete insisted that the couple are treating their rekindled romance as "new relationship" and revealed that the pair of them are fully invested in making things work this time around.
Revealing the moment he knew that he wanted Megan back, Pete admitted that the more time he spent apart from Megan, the more he missed her.
On his state of mind after their split, he said: "When it didn't start getting easier. Generally I don't have a lot of people that I am really close to. I thought I'd be able to switch off when I thought it was done. I thought after a bit of time, I would get over it, but it just got worse for me really."
As for what the future holds for Pegan, the 24-year-old country music sensation revealed that she's hoping for a wedding on the scale of a royal ceremony. And you guessed it, she already has a mental snapshot of her dream dress.
"I would want it to be like a royal wedding," she said. "The Duchess Of Cambridge meets Diana [Princess Of Wales]. A massive dress, all the ivy falling down, a huge church. I'd like a proper traditional wedding."
Over to Pete.
