2013 Mercury Prize Nominees Announced

David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys, Disclosure and Foals are among the nominees for the 2013 Barclaycard Mercury Prize.

The shortlist for the prestigious award, which aims to recognise musical creativity and excellence, was announced today (September 11) at London's Hospital Club.

In total, 12 'Albums of the Year' have been selected by an independent judging panel.
