The 1975, Skepta And Kano Included In Mercury Prize Album Of The Year Shortlist
It’s that time of year again when the best albums from the past twelve months get shortlistedfor the Mercury Prize Album Of The Year.
This year’s shortlist is REALLY good for the UK rap scene with both Skepta AND Kano’s latest LPs being shortlisted for the prestigious award.
As well as this, the long awaited sophomore record from The 1975 also made the cut alongsidemany more albums we haven’t stopped listening to.
The rest of the list consists of legends such as the late David Bowie and Radiohead. Also in the mix are Mercury Prize favourites Bat For Lashes and Savages, having both been shortlisted before.
Anohni, Jamie Woon, Michael Kiwanuka and The Comet Is Coming complete the list and we’re finding it hard to predict who might take home the award this year.
