Metallica will host a party before and after their gig at the O2 Arena on Monday.

In association with Guitar Hero the group will open the IndigO2 venue for a whole day of Metallica themed fun.

The band released their hotly anticipated new Rick Rubin produced album Death Magnetic today and play the O2 Arena show to celebrate.

They sold tickets to the massive gig for just 5 late last month- with all proceeds going to charity.

In a statement Metallica said: Because this is a celebration, ticket prices will be, shall we say, 'retro'."

The group are battling Scottish band Glasvegas for the album chart number one spot.
