Metallica have revealed that playing Glastonbury Festival this year was ‘a no brainer’.
Drummer from the band Lars Ulrich spoke to Radio 1’s Zane Lowe about what to expect from the band’s set at the summer festival, after yesterday’s announcement came that they’re headlining.
"To be honest with you, we didn't sit around and have a big conversation when the call came".
"In Metallica we have a saying called a 'no-brainer'. Headlining Glastonbury is a no-brainer. We didn't need to sit around thinking about the pros and cons."
Although the musician was clear on the fact that their music may not be everyones cup of tea at the Worthy Farm event.
“I’m aware [of] the fact that we may be playing to a few friendly faces who have maybe not experienced Metallica before.”
"Trust your friendly neighbourhood Metallica - we'll put something suitable together”, he told Zane.
Kasabian and Arcade Fire are among the other headliners joining them on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, which you can catch June 27- 29.
