M.I.A Leaves Label, Looks For Staff On Twitter
The Bad Girl singer is hoping for a new start in the new year...
If you fancy a job in the music industry, now might be the time to start following M.I.A.on Twitter!
The singer and rapper has put out a call for talent on the social media site, writing: “MIA 4 the people by the people, looking for young people to work in fields of ART production / MUSIC /MERCH / FILM / WEB / MARKETING SndCV.”
The tweet came only a day after she sent out a message saying she was leaving her music label, Roc Nation.
“im leaving @RocNation . Thank to everyone who supported the M.I.A #MATANGI LP. HAPPY NEW YEAR | 2014” she posted on New Year’s Eve.
M.I.A. signed a management deal with Roc Nation – who also boast artists including Rihanna amd Jay Z on their books - a year and a half ago.
However, the controversial artist reportedly had a number of disagreements with the company and her main record label, Interscope, over a number of issues.
These included the release date of Matangi, her last album, which was delayed, and the making of a documentary about the singer, which has been put on hold indefinitely.
