Michael Jackson is facing a fresh allegation of child abuse from an unidentified person, US police have said.
The Los Angeles Police Department said it had launched an inquiry after prosecutors informed them about claims that Jackson - who is currently facing separate child molestation charges - abused a child around 15 years ago.
The LAPD said in a statement: "The victim alleges the acts took place in the City of Los Angeles in the late 1980's. The Department's Juvenile Division, Child Protection Section, is currently investigating the allegations." The department declined to give any further comment over the incident and Jackson's representatives and prosecutors could not immediately be reached for comment on the latest charges.
Jacko has pleaded innocent to separate charges stemming from sex abuse accusations made by a young boy.
