Orianthi: MJ’s Guitarist Talks
Guitar Gal Talks Playing For Pop Legend
Say hello to Orianthi: she's the talented Aussie lass Michael Jackson picked as his guitar player for his 'This Is It' concerts.
And with the MJ movie 'This Is It' premiering last night (October 28) to rave reviews, we caught up with the gal with the axe to find out more.
Explaining how she landed the job, Orianthi explained: "I answered an ad through MySpace and then I heard back from Michael's musical director who said: 'You wanna come and audition for the band? I didn’t think it was for real.
"So I played for the musical director and then later that night I played for Michael. I've never been so nervous, I didn't think I was gonna get it . I was blown away that he liked my playing. It was a dream come true."
Sadly with Jacko's sudden death, Orianthi never got to hit the road with him. She is now, however, concentrating on her own pop career with her album 'Believe' and first single 'According To You' just about ready to drop.
She told MTV: "My dad's a guitar player and I picked up my first guitar when I was about 3. I loved it; playing makes me so happy."
