Watch Madonna's Tribute To The King Of Pop

The Queen of Pop pays tribute to the King as she kicks-off revamped tour…

Michael Jackson on stage at London’s 02 Arena.

Kicking off her revamped Sticky and Sweet tour at the 02, where Jackson was himself due to perform a series of farewell concerts this month, Madge dedicated a large portion of the gig to the late superstar.
As she performed Holiday, Madonna was joined on-stage by a dancer dressed as MJ, in a trademark sequined jacket and sparkling white glove. “Give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known,” she screamed.
“Long live the King!”
As the dancer moonwalked across the stage, photos of Jackson as a boy flashed up on a giant screen, to huge cheers from the 17,000-strong audience. The dancer went on to perform some of Jackson’s signature moves to ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something’.
Closing the show with Give It 2 Me, Madonna and her dancers each wore a jewelled glove in an additional tribute to Jackson. Lyrics from MJ’s hit Man In the Mirror were also scrolled across screens: “If you want to make the world a better place,” read the message, “Take a look at yourself and then make that change.”
Meanwhile, some fans were said to have been angered by Madonna’s late arrival for the show – keeping them waiting in the sweltering arena for an hour. Some reportedly made their feelings known with boos, but soon cheered-up when she got her hits out.
Madonna plays Manchester tomorrow (July 7), followed by a string of tour-dates around Europe.
