Michelle Keegan To Star In New BBC Drama
Former Corrie actress to team up with Jason Manford in Ordinary Lies...
When Michelle Keegan left Coronation Street and got engaged to Mark Wright we were a tiny bit concerned that we'd only see her on the cover of OK! and FHM magazines in future.
But we're pleased to report that the 27-year-old actress has landed a major role in a prestigious new BBC drama, where she'll be working alongside comic Jason Manford.
The pair are part of the ensemble cast of Ordinary Lies, which comes from the creators of acclaimed shows Last Tango In Halifax and Happy Valley.
Max Beesley, Mackenzie Crook, EastEnders star Jo Joyner and Belinda Stewart-Wilson (aka Will's mum from The Inbetweeners) will also all feature in the drama, which will hit the small screen next year.
Set on the shopfloor of a motor showroom, it will show how each character's lies affect others and generate unexpected consequences.
Keegan will play a receptionist, with Manford playing to type as a salesman.
Creator Danny Brocklehurst said in a press release: "I'm delighted to have attracted such an amazing cast to Ordinary Lies.
"This is a show I'm truly passionate about, and it's a dream come true to be making such a bold series for BBC One.
"RED Production Company has a track record of making brilliant, powerful, life-affirming drama and I hope Ordinary Lies continues that trend."
