Michelle Keegan's exit from Coronation Street is set to be the subject of a major cloak-and-dagger operation by show bosses, it is reported.

The Sun newspaper claims that her character Tina McIntyre will be murdered by four different people in four alternate endings, to try to prevent leaks spoiling the plot for fans.

Filming is set to start soon for the storyline, due to be broadcast in May - but the paper claims the plot won't be screened as a whodunnit.

A source said: "Bosses are keen for Tina's murder to be the soap’s next big dramatic storyline following the suicide of Hayley Cropper.

"But they are insistent that who kills her must remain a secret and so they've hatched a plan to film Tina being murdered four times by four different characters.

"Michelle will have to go through Tina’s death on four occasions, which will be emotional for her.”

Michelle has previously revealed that she plans to move down south to live with fiancé Mark Wright once she has left the Manchester-based soap.
