Michelle Obama Lets Loose On Carpool Karaoke With James Corden And It’s Amazing
You HAVE to watch this...
Imagine that you’re James Corden. You’re that friendly, loveable guy from ‘The History Boys’, ‘Gavin and Stacey’…and also the guy that did ‘Lesbian Vampire Killers’ (but let’s forget about that one). How do you top getting Adele, Stevie Wonder and Justin Bieber (three times) to do Carpool Karaoke? Answer: you need to go further up the fame chain. You need to go almost as high as you can get. You need to get Michelle Obama in the car.
And get Michelle Obama in he did.
It’s pretty remarkable to think of how popular Carpool Karaoke has become on YouTube. Anticipation for this latest edition was so high that this new 14-minute video even had its own teaser trailer (viewed six million times) that was released days before the clip went live. Carpool Karaoke is massive. It’s so massive that other late night talk show hosts (since a talk shows’ success is somewhat measured by the virality of their video features these days) must be sweating with jealousy.
Back to this new clip - it didn’t disappoint. The pair sang Stevie Wonder and Beyoncé as they drove around the White House grounds, before Missy Elliot dropped in to sing ‘This Is For My Girls’.
The pair also got time to chat and, much like the Barack Obama ‘Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee’ video with Jerry Seinfeld, it was fascinating to hear about normal life in the White House, from codenames to ordering grilled cheese sandwiches at 3am.

Where does Corden go from here? Who can you possibly invite to help you get to work now that you’ve had the actual MICHELLE OBAMA? Fans have been clamouring for a Taylor Swift Carpool Karaoke for some time, but we’ll have to wait and see if anything materialises…
