Mickey Rourke: I'm Not A Marvel Fan

Sin City star is still bitter about Iron Man 2 role being trimmed...

Mickey Rourke has again voiced his unhappiness with Marvel Studios.

The veteran actor, who saw his part in Iron Man 2 drastically cut in editing, compared the way Marvel works to Sin City director Robert Rodriguez' M.O.

Speaking on Late Night With Seth Meyers, he said: "I'm not a Marvel fan. I'm a Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller fan. Once I did a film for Marvel and they cut the whole f**king thing out.

"When you work with Robert, he knows what he wants. I do a lot of research and work on the character a lot and so when you bring it to the table it's disappointing when they cut stuff out. Frank's on the set so he puts his two cents in - they're two guys who are very enthusiastic who know exactly what they want."

Rourke, 61, played villain Ivan Vanko in Iron Man 2 - but many of the scenes he filmed were left on the cutting room floor.

Asked why Sin City: A Dame To Kill For had taken nine years to arrive, he hinted that finances were the issue.

"I think they ran out of money. There was some BS that went down."

And he then jested: "You can't cut that, right? It'll be like my Marvel movie, everything will be cut out."
