Mika is Royally Stitched Up
The singer tells us he was at the hands of a 'Grace Kelly' practical joker...
Mika has revealed that on the same day Princess Stephanie of Monaco said she loved his smash hit 'Grace Kelly' - an ode to her mother - he was also asked by her brother Prince Albert to can the song.
The singer told MTV News, "I received a letter from the prince saying if I didnt change the title I wouldnt be let in the Principality. I called my lawyer to say, 'This is serious'."
Mika told us he was dangerously close to tampering with the song but after a little digging was bemused, and relieved, to discover he'd been done up like a right royal kipper at the hands of a hoaxer.
"Turns out the letter was a fake and someone had my address," he said. "It was a quite amazing spoof. But I believed it."
Fortunately for the curly-haired crooner, stories about Princess Stephanie being thrilled with the track are all true.
The princess said at the weekend, "Mika is very talented and handsome and I'm sure my mother would have liked the song very much."
