Miley Cyrus' 2014 VMAs Date Is Selling Her Moonman Trophy
Jesse Helt went with Miley to the awards and accepted her trophy for Video Of The Year.
Cast your minds back to the 2014 MTV VMAs, and you might just remember Miley Cyrus bringing Jesse Helt, a young homeless man who had been living on the streets, with her as her date for the night, giving him the chance to collect her Video of the Year Moonman for 'Wrecking Ball’.
It was a particularly moving and memorable moment, with Jesse telling the audience as he picked up the award: "Thank y'all. My name is Jesse and I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the US who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now.
"I know this because I am one of these people.”
Now, Jesse is auctioning the very special Moonman trophy - which is engraved with both his and Miley’s names - on eBay, with bidding originally starting at $10,000 (around £7,600) and currently standing at $13,100 (around £9,975, as of Wednesday 31st August).
In the item’s description, he writes: “In mint condition. Very rare one of a kind. No fingerprints.”
According to TMZ, Jesse recently got a studio apartment in Los Angeles, and is selling the award to raise money before his baby is born in a few months.
Happy bidding, everyone!
