Miley Cyrus has shot down rumours that she is to play Tinker Bell in a live television production of Peter Pan.

The Adore You singer took to Twitter to slam the reports, posting a snap of the tabloid story that alleged she would be going for her 'dream role' in the NBCshow - and Mi-Cy was hoping to outdo The Sound Of Music Live! star Carrie Underwood, who appeared on the channel last December.

A 'friend' was quoted as saying: "Carrie could sing, but she just couldn't act; that's not a problem with Miley. And with her short haircut, she does resemble Tinker Bell. She could nab this role."

However, it seems Cyrus won't be swapping twerking for fairy dust just yet - with the star denying the story and tweeting: "I would rather choke on my own tongue."

She also went on to rubbish claims of a romance with Justin Bieber, uploading another article suggesting she was seeing JB behind ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez's back.

The 21-year old accompanied the pic with the caption: "Btw this is photoshopped. Biebs wasn't at Pharrels bday party. I never read this s**t & that's why (sic)."

Miley also hit the headlines this week after sharing snaps of her bruised legs as a result of her Bangerz tour.
