Miley Cyrus Teases Bangerz Tour Details!
Singer promised kitties in space and Ren & Stimpy-style surreal art...
Miley Cyrus has teased details of her upcoming Bangerz tour, promising out of this world artwork and kitties in space.
The hard-twerking singer has roped in John K, creator of cult Nickelodeon cartoon Ren and Stimpy, to produce artwork for her show. “His art is driving a lot of the tour,” she explained to NY Daily News.
This will include “kitties in space”, as per her American Music Awards performance last year, as well as other animals. “Imaginative, not real”, she clarified.
The tour kicks off on Valentine’s Day in Canada before travelling through America and arriving in Europe by the beginning of May.
Each show, she revealed, will be around an hour and a half long, largely focused on Bangerz, the former Disney star’s fourth studio album, although she will also feature some of her old hits as well as covers and an acoustic session. “At the end of the day,” she explained, it’s about the “voice.”
Despite focusing on her vocal performance, Miley confirmed the show will open and close with major props and stunts while there will also be a chance for fans to take home some collectibles.
“I’m a little bit of a hoarder,” she said. “So I hope my fans become hoarders. I want to give them real things they can collect. I’ll have things falling out of the sky that most people would sell at the merch table.”
And the latex-loving singer also promised some surprises in the wardrobe department. Miley will be wearing threads by avante garde designers Marc Jacobs and Jeremy Scott among some more classic pieces by Bob Mackie, who has previously designed for Beyoncé and Cher. “He’s one of my biggest inspirations,” the singer said of Mackie.
Clearly all the talk of touring has got Miley excited as she tweeted earlier this week: “I can't wait to be on tourrrrrrrrrrr.”
