Miley Cyrus is up for Best Song and Breakthrough Female Performance thanks to her work in Hannah Montana: The Movie.
And taking to her Twitter yesterday the star said: “I got nominated for an MTV award!!!! Yayyy :)” and gave out a link so fans could vote for her.
Ashley Tisdale is also up for the Best Breakthrough Female and she is similarly excited. The exclamation mark lover wrote: "OMG just found out I'm nominated for breakthrough female MTV Movie Award!!!!!!! Aaahhh, I am so excited this is my first nomination!"
Later Tisdale tweeted: “Thanks so much to all the fans who helped me get nominated and please keep voting! I love you guys."
Also in the hotly contested category are Amanda Seyfried from Mamma Mia!, Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto, Vanessa Hudgens and Kat Dennings- who stars in Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.
The MTV Movie Awards 2009 take place on May 31 in LA and we can’t wait!
