Miley Cyrus Wanted To Make History With VMAs Performance

Miley Cyrushas confessed she wanted to "make history" with her [uuid=cb7e568b-0ee3-4660-8d4b-8b622464784d]Robin Thickeas he sang his smash hit single, Blurred Lines.

 

 

During an exclusive interview with MTV News US as part of a new documentary, Miley explained:  "Me and Robin [Thicke] the whole time said, 'You know we're about to make history right now'.

 

"What's amazing is I think now, we're three days later and people are still talking about it. They're over-thinking it."

 

She continued: "You're thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn't even think about it 'cause that's just me."

 

 

The We can't Stop singer also admitted that she tries to ignore any negative response to her performance, stating: "I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this play out so many time. How many times have we seen this play out in pop music?

 

"Madonna's done it. Britney's done it. Every VMAs performance, that's what you're looking for; you're wanting to make history."

 

Miley's new album, Bangerz, is due for release in the UK on October 7.
