You Can Now Play Minecraft With Your Friends From Your Phone!
Minecraft Realms means you can play with up to 10 people at a time on your phone.
Minecraft mobile fans, your game is about to get social! The block-based brilliance now lets you use Minecraft Realms on smartphones and tablets - and it's all thanks to an enhanced Minecraft Pocket Edition.
Minecraft Realms allows gamers to run their own servers so they can play with their friends online at the same time. And until now, it was available for the PC version only.
Microsoft has now removed barriers so this can be done on Minecraft Pocket Edition too!
Realms means cooperating, competing and adventuring in groups of up to 10 players at a time and up to 200 people can be given access.
Play in Survival and Creative modes as well as playing mini-games and maps like UHC Blox, The Dropper and Diversity 2. The owner of the Realm is in charge and can import or export maps, change games and even check up on who's been logging in, and when.
Phones and tablets to get the Realms upgrade include iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Windows 10. Initially it will be run as a beta on Android only, meaning anyone can get to use if for free right now. Realms for PC is usually £5.59 per month – here's hoping that includes the mobile option when it rolls out fully.
