Good news, Minecraft fans! Yes, there is a Minecraft movie on the way.
The bad news? You’ve got to wait until 2019 to get your eyeballs around the blocks on the big screen.

Mojang, the developers who make the game, has revealed that the movie will finally hit cinemas in 3D and IMAX on May 24 2019.

Sooooo we have a bit of time on our hands to make some sweet builds while we wait.

Yes, that might seem like a long time away, but it just so happens to be the right amount of time to make it completely awesome. And we all want an awesome Minecraft movie, right?” wrote Mojang COO Vu Bui in a blog post.
The Minecraft movie will be directed by Rob McElhennery - AKA Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - so expect LOLs. A few years worth of them, too.
