Missy Elliot Album Preview

MTV had a listen to Timbaland produced tracks from her new LP, get the details here

Missy Elliot will release her latest album in the UK this June and MTV has heard of many of the Hip Hop legends new tracks.

The rappers manager Mona Scott flew from the States to present eight songs from M.Es seventh studio album.

For her new record Missy is back working with super-producer Timbaland after a rumoured falling out and the results sound very good to us.

Banger Shake A Pom Pom features a dramatic horn intro and brass blasts in the huge Indian inspired beat.

Another Tim produced joint I Like It When They Play The Music has a more commercial sound and according to Elliot's introduction is perfect for driving to the beach in your drop-top convertible or bicycle!

Hip Hop Dont Die is Missys response to criticisms of the genre where she smartly tells people not to blame rap for drug taking or violence. Its probably the most serious track of her career.

On one new track- a currently untitled ballad- Missy jokes that she sounds like T-Pain whilst using a vocoder on her vocal. During the intro she says her and Tim wanted the beat to be like their more laidback work with Ginuwine and Aaliyah.

The Soul Diggaz (Beyonce/ Mary J) produced All For You was our favourite track of the listening session. Its a mostly sung sexy joint with an almost G-Funk bump.

Other track titles on the currently untitled album include Milk And Cookies, Best Best and Act A Fool.

But as Elliots manager Mona explained there could be a few changes before the summer release.

Timbaland this week sent Missy six new beats to work on. So there could be more magic on her latest disc yet!
