We caught up with the exciting new artist to find out a little bit more about him and his music...

This week's featured artist is an incredible rapper from Birmingham.

MIST is one of the UK's most promising talents. Ever since releasing his debut EP M I S To The T in 2016 he's been one to watch and his latest release Diamond in the Dirt boasts incredible collaborations with the likes of Jessie Ware, MoStack and Not3s.

We were lucky enough to catch up with the rising star this week.

1) For those who don’t know about you and your music, tell us a little bit about who you are and where you’re from…

I’m a music artist from Birmingham. I rap about the things I’ve been through and situations I’ve lived.

2) Describe your sound in three words…

Real, raw, rap.

3) Who inspired you to start a career in music?

When I was in prison I was asked who I am. I never really knew who I was or who I was going to be. I started writing and realised I needed to get what was in my mind down on paper. That’s what inspired me, it was that question.

4) Who are your biggest musical influences?

The greats.

5) Tell us about the writing and recording process for your new music...

It was a long process filled with sleepless nights. Me and the producers would sleep in the studio making music all night waiting till we had that perfect record. As I said before I just write about the things I know and what I’ve lived.
