Motorola Launches Razr i Smartphone
Device touted as iPhone beater will be first with 2Ghz processor...
Motorolahas unveiled a new smartphone with an edge-to-edge screen which it hopes will take on the likes of the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3.
The Android-based RAZR i, built as a result of a collaboration with Intel, features a 4.3-inch edge-to-edge Super Amoled HD display, built with Corning Gorilla Glass.
Launched in London today, the device is claimed to be the first smartphone to run a 2Ghz processor.
The company's head of device design Jim Wicks said: "If you are buying a TV, you are not buying it for the frame, you are buying it for the screen. That is why we believe in this phone."
It has an eight megapixel camera and also takes HD video, plus it is claimed to have 40 per cent better battery life than the iPhone 4S.
Running on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, it comes equipped with near-field communications technology (NFC) for instant contactless payment.
