HI THERE. Welcome back to F**k It Friday - a weekly feature from MTV Breaks that’s all about saying a big “f**k yeah” to the most excellent people who’ve said “f**k it!” (probably) and taken a leap of faith to make big things happen.

Cos it’s not about just having ideas – it’s about working hard, seizing opportunity, believing in yourself, and 100% following them through!

So who’s next up in the FIF roll call of honour? Drumroll… it’s TORI KELLY! She’s the blonde-haired babe with a beyond heavenly voice, and you’ve almost definitely heard of her. That’s because she’s played with big namers Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, played a 32 city sold out tour, performed at the EMAs AND the VMAs (she’s our fave), and she’s been nominated as ‘Best New Artist’ at the Grammys.

So how did it all start? Although Tori was singing in competitions from a very early age (seriously, she was INSANE, even at 10 years old), and though she even made appearances on televised competitions, she didn’t get her break till later on. And now there’s no stopping her.

How did Tori reach world domination stage in her singing career? She said “f**k it!” (probably) and decided to post home vids of her singing on YouTube. It’s as simple as that! She started nine years ago, with some grainy footage of various amateur performances, but it was when she posted an acoustic cover of Frank Ocean’s ‘Thinkin Bout You’ that Tori’s views rocketed and she became an internet sensation overnight. The vid went viral, accumulating more than 24 MILLION views.

She decided to try to get her name out there via YouTube because (in her own words), “I just thought I’ll just give it a shot, whatever, I’ll see what happens”… basically she said “f**k it!”

That’s why Tori makes a PERFECT “f**k it” Friday Queen. She’s a self-made superstar (with really good hair) who took her chances and followed her instincts, and there’s no one we’d rather have seated on the “f**k it” throne this week – BOW DOWN people.
