Meet MTV Breaks EMA Photography Winner Federica

We're so super excited to introduce you to the winner of our 2015 EMA MTV Breaks photography opportunity - Federica Campanile from Italy.

Our photography judges were blown away by Federica's stunning picture, so she'll be joining the team in Milan to make sure we get the best pics from the show.

With less than two weeks to go until the night of the EMA, we thought we'd let you get to know Federica a little better...

What made you decide to enter MTV Breaks? 

I decided to try to participate at the MTV breaks because my friend told me about the opportunity. I just did it for fun, because I thought it would be difficult (even impossible) to win. There were so many entries! Each day the chance of being chosen as the winner was less and less.

How did you feel when you found out your entry had been chosen out of thousands of others?

When they called to tell me that I'd won I started shaking! I didn't think it was true. I just kept wondering "why me? Why my picture?" I only told my parents at first because I was so convinced they would tell me that they'd made a mistake! 

Who is your favorite photographer?

There are so many photographers who inspire me. However, there's one person who stands out as complete artist for me and that's Annie Leibovitz. My other favorites are Robert Capa, Scianna, Henry Cartier Bresson, Avedon, and Diane Arbus.

What’s your ultimate career aspiration?

My future career aspiration is to work as a photo reporter, be able to travel the world and improve my skills.
