HEY THERE and welcome to Woman Crush Wednesday, a weekly feature from MTV Breaks where we raise our glasses to all the fabulous females who are out there conquering life’s taboos and stereotypes, and who are just generally making the world a better place to live day by day.

Because regardless of looks, a woman that’s smart, motivated and ambitious is super-sexy and (let’s face it) we would.

So which sensational señorita are we celebrating (and crushing on majorly) today? Drumroll… it’s EBONY OSHUNRINDE! Ebony (AKA Wondagurl) is a 19-year-old music producer with a DAZZLING resumé. At 19, she’s worked with some massive names in the music industry like Travis Scott, Jay Z, Young Thug and Kanye West, and she’s ONLY 19…. Or did we already mention that?!

Despite her age Ebony is pretty experienced, given that she started producing music when she was only 9 years old… but she said she only started to take it seriously aged 11 (slacking). She started by making beats on her piano, and tried out singing and rapping before deciding that making beats was deffo more her thing. She then used YouTube to teach herself how to make proper beats and, when she was 12, she reckoned it was time to put her stuff out there. As you do.

She entered the Battle of the Beat Makers competition several times and in 2012 she won the whole thing and became its youngest champ EVER. And while other beat makers stood at the front dancing and trying to get everyone hyped, Ebony just stood quietly smiling, and let her beats speak for themselves.

Ebony’s effing talented, but she also made her own luck. When she was 18, she DMed Drake on Instagram with one of her beats saying, “would you rap on this?” And guess what? IT TURNS OUT HE WOULD. She produced both “Company” and “Used To” off “If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late”, a mixtape of Drake’s that went out on Itunes and got everyone talking about her.

Basically Ebony (known in producer circles as Wondagurl) is a talented, hard-working, chance-taking, beat-producing, arse-kicking BABE, and she’s so young that she’s really only at the start of her career! So yeah she’s a pretty big deal but HANDS OFF, cos she’s our Woman Crush Wednesday winner this week, and we saw her first.
