We're still in awe over what happened tonight. Club MTV's takeover of MTV Crashes Coventry was F-I-R-E.
Opening act Superhero DJs used their powers for the good of party goers everywhere giving the eager early birds at the event an action-packed set full of throwback hip hop, R&B and garage anthems before handing over the baton to Zac Samuel who stepped up the pace with club faves from Calvin Harris and more.
Next to the decks, it was the turn of the legendary Pete Tong who, for an hour, transformed the Ricoh Arena into an Ibizan terrace party, ramping up the energy with a set for house lovers to dribble over.
Our epic line up then introducedBasement Jaxx who brought an eclectic set of recenttribal house hits as well asJaxx classics including 'Do Your Thing', 'Red Alert' and 'Where's Your Head At?' before making way for grime legend Kano...
Coventry took the East London star to heart as he unleashed new tracks from'Made In The Manor', before jumping into the pit and getting in on the action with the masses.
As the crowd numbers swelled, we got an unscheduled surprise appearance from Panjabi MC (!)before Club MTV’s own R3WIRE & Varksi took the vibes to the next level with a set of pure fire featuring bangers from Galantis, The Weeknd and countless more remixes, hyping up the crowd up to epic levels as only the duo do best.
DnB don Wilkinson, along with MC Ad-Apt, dropped bass bombs from Culture Shock, Sigma, Sub Focus and more before unleashing his huge hits 'Take You Higher', 'Too Close', 'Half Light' and obvs the T-U-N-E 'Afterglow' leading up to the main event...
How to describe ourheadline act..well, let't just sayThe Chainsmokers SMASHED IT. The American duo brought their EDM madness to the Ricoh complete with pyro madness and massive main room belters managing to segway the Red Hot Chili Peppers classic 'Under The Bridge' into their Top 40 smash 'Roses' into Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself' and more.
Ending on their current earworm 'Don't Let Me Down', the pair certainly made their mark on the arena, and our hearts. *swoon!*
