Afrojack, Example, Sub Focus & More Bring The Noise At Club MTV Crashes Plymouth!
Plymouth you were WILD!
How do you top Day 1 of MTV Crashes Plymouth? You ask Club MTV to host another day of epicness with a DJ line up to drool over!
Yep, after Rudimental, Jess Glynne, Raleigh Ritchie, Jonas Blue and Anne-Marie killed it yesterday, Club MTV returned after their debut last year with another monster line up featuring some of the biggest names in dance music.
Thankfully the rain held off as Plymouth’s own Jonezy, our MTV Breaks winner Warren Jones and Superhero DJs were first on to hype up the crowd as the masses gathered on Plymouth Hoe.
Next up Brit duo Tough Love sped their way to the South West to drop some house bombs including their infectious hits ‘Pony (Jump On It)’, ‘So Freakin’ Tight’ plus - surprise! - they brought out Karen Harding (side note: absolute BABE) for a live PA of their brand new single.
Club MTV’s own R3WIRE & Varski were as epic as ever setting the stage on fire with an hour of EDM madness, and we’d expect nothing less. Relentlessly dropping bangers from Avicii to Galantis, the pair, who never fail to bring the energy, sent the tens of thousands on Plymouth Hoe absolutely mental.
DnB legend Sub Focus was next to take the reigns as the beats took a heavier turn. Signing on in classic tradition, he opened with his Daft Punk-sampling ‘Rock It’ before powering into a bass-heavy set swinging from drum and bass to jackin’ house and back again.
His own hits including ‘Endorphins’, ‘Turn Back Time’ and ‘Timewarp’ all drew huge reactions as well as cheeky drops of Wilkinson’s ‘Afterglow’ and A-Trak’s remix of Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ ‘Heads Will Roll’, but what we heard of his new music has just got us VERY excited for his third album. BIG.

Closing on his remix of Eric Prydz’s ‘Breathe’, if that was all, you’d have left happy, but we weren’t done there…
As the sun set, DJ Wire took to the decks, revving up the crowd before Example, who had flown in from Mallorca especially, stepped on stage - the very spot he performed at during the first MTV Crashes Plymouth two years ago.
Packing in the hits including ‘All The Wrong Places’, ‘One More Day (Stay With Me)’ and ‘We’ll Be Coming Back’, the busiest guy on the road right now (have you seen his tour schedule?!) had the throngs in the palm of his hand, whipping us up ready for the big one…

Dutch megastar Afrojack was our final act of the night, bringing with him a retina-scorching light show, perhaps the most phenomenal we’ve ever experienced at MTV Crashes Plymouth.
An hour of pure fire, we’ve never danced so hard as we did as the DJ, aka Nick van der Wall, pummelled us with his Afro-hits including ‘Turn Up The Speakers’, ‘Hey Mama’, ’No Beef’ and ’The Spark’, plus special guest Fais also joined the party for a live performance of their brand new single ‘Hey’.

Fireworks blazed during the finale of ‘Ten Feet Tall’ and after that set, the towering producer left us feeling about a hundred feet tall.
So for another year, we say goodbye Plymouth.
We came, we raved, we loved EVERY minute.
