MTV Gig Highlights Of The Week: MTV Crashes Plymouth, TOMORROWLAND, The Maccabees & more

Check out what we've been up to in the world of live music this week...

We’ve been out and about catching all of the best live music from the past seven days, and not just from the UK! Some of the team went out to TOMORROWLAND in Belgium to check out one ofthe world’s biggest dance music festivals.

Here are some of the highlights from this week’s gigs and festivals…

Georgia @Electrowerkz

GEoRGiA played the drums, guitar and sang the night away, displaying she’s far from short of musical talent. Great show! (July 20)

Izzy Bizu @ Undersolo

Izzy performed both released and unreleased material in a set that allowed her to show off her vocal ability and proof of why she’s definitely one to watch. (July 20)

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats

A monstrous, foot stopping, horn tooting, hoedown of a performance by the wonderfully soulful Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. (July 20)

The Maccabees @ Corsica Studios

The south London five piece and indie legends, The Maccabees, performed to a mere 250 people at Elephant & Castle’s Corsica Studios. The free gig was a greatest hits show with Orlando Weeks’ and co. playing hit after hit. We even got a taste of new album, Marks To Prove It.Check out our five star review here. (July 23)

Mic Lowry @ Islington O2

The boys definitely satisfied the excited fans tightly packed at the front of the stage. They proved themselves to be great entertainers and their harmonies and vocals were on point! (July 23)

MTV Crashes Plymouth @ Plymouth Hoe

MTV Crashes Plymouth was even bigger and better this year! On the first day, thousands of all ages turned out to party with chart toppers Little Mix, Kodaline, Foxes and who else to close the show but Tinie Tempah! Day two saw DJ heavyweights Steve Aoki, Oliver Heldens, DJ Fresh and Deorro taking to the stage back to back for a day of partying like Plymouth has never seen before. We can’t wait for next year… (July 22 & 23)

TOMORROWLAND @ Boom, Belgium

This year’s Belgian extravaganza played host to the biggest DJs and producers in the world right now from Hardwell, Tiesto, David Guetta, Afrojack, Steve Aoki to Martin Garrix. We had an amazing time and learnt why it’s one of the biggest dance music spectacles in the ENTIRE world.
