Tinie Tempah, Little Mix, Foxes & Kodaline Send Plymouth Absolutely Mental

The first day of MTV Crashes Plymouth 2015 has closed with a bang! Here’s what you missed…

We. Are. Speechless. Day 1 of this year’s MTV Crashes Plymouth has officially drawn to a close after incredible performances from Tinie Tempah, Little Mix, Kodaline and Foxes, and we can’t even begin to describe the feeling… but we’ll try…

First up, current chart toppers Little Mix opened the show with a giant ‘Salute’ to Plymouth, impressing us with both their stomping dance moves and insane vocals.

Clad in coordinating monochrome outfits, Perrie, Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne powered their way through a killer set of hits, including singles ‘Move’, ‘Change Your Life’ and ‘DNA’ – which totally took our b-b-b-breath away.

Told that they were one of Jesy’s “favourite crowds”, the Plymouth Mixers went wild, cheering again as the girls celebrated her recent engagement to Rixton’s Jake Roche. An acapella version of ‘How Ya Doin?’ allowed Perrie to really flex her vocal cords, with bandmate Jade showing her appreciation for those Christina Aguilera-esque notes, by clapping her out of the song.

‘Black Magic’ provided a, well, magical end to Little Mix’s set, before the girls made way for our second act of the night.

Former MTV Brand New act Kodaline brought serious energy to Crashes, performing tracks including ‘Love Like This’ and ‘Brand New Day’, the Irish rockers clearly enjoying our seaside setting.

As the sun set over Plymouth Hoe, Foxes took to the stage, and kept us ‘Holding Onto Heaven’ from start to finish. Performing a mix of old and new tracks, the crowd were happy to provide backing vocals on classics like ‘Youth’ and ‘Clarity’, while current single ‘Body Talk’ gave us a sneak peek at what to expect from the chanteuse’s next album.

However, it was show-closer Tinie Tempah who really raised the roof… sky… whatever. As darkness had fallen, it seemed only appropriate for Tinie to open with ‘Written In The Stars’, his adoring audience singing along to every word.

‘Frisky’ and ‘Earthquake’ were every bit as epic as you can imagine, all 35,000 Crashes attendees dancing, while debut single ‘Pass Out’ had us feeling all nostalgic. ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ paid homage to the party island Tinie had been on just hours earlier, while Calvin Harris collab ‘Drinking From The Bottle’ was accompanied by full-on fireworks.

Exiting the stage to ‘Tsunami’, Tinie definitely rocked Plymouth Hoe, leavingin a sea of confetti.

A huge thank you goes to Plymouth Council for letting us run riot on the Hoe once again, our world-class line up, the Club MTV crew for keeping everyone jumping between sets and, of course, the tens of thousands of you guys who went absolutely mental!

Now, we’ve got to do it all over again tomorrow for our Club MTV takeover with Steve Aoki, Oliver Heldens, DJ Fresh and more. There are still some tickets remaining – head to seetickets.com to grab yours now.

Can it be tomorrow now please?

You’ll be able to watch all the MTV Crashes Plymouth Day 1 highlights this August on MTV Music.
