Get To Know: Alissic

This week we're getting to know Alissic... the 24 year old singer was born and raised in Brazil and became a teen model at just 15. Alissic always had a love for fashion and illustrations, and found that music was the perfect combination of the two. Alissic's video for 'Superstitious' is out now and you can catch her at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton this May!

1. For those who don’t know about you and your music, tell us a little bit about who you are and where you’re from

I’m Alissic and I’m from Brazil! currently I live in the UK. I make music for humans and vampires (also other beings)! 

2. Who/what inspired you to start a career in music?

When I was floating around my hometown wondering about what I wanted to do in life, 'Big Time Sensuality' by Björk came in and I thought “I gotta make music”. 

3. Who are your biggest musical influences?

Albert Roth (the guy who invented the xylophone).

4. Tell us about the writing and recording process of your new release…

First we eat magical soup and after we make sounds that combine to make the world I wanna create, the lyrics are like spells so if you listen to it more then 10x you grow an inch taller. Usually the process is quite slow because it takes time to get a really good song. But once the song is done we celebrate by having more magical soup.

5. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

Meeting my frog band and having super cool fans.

6. Who would you be your dream collaboration and why?

Gorillaz (2d crush).

7. Have you met anyone and been totally starstruck?

Oli from Bring Me The Horizon, hehe. 

8. If you could only listen to one song on repeat for the rest of time what would it be and why?

Vleurgat - Oskar Schuster, feels like the perfect soundtrack for my life.

9. What’s on your playlists that people wouldn’t expect?

'React' by The Pussycat Dolls.

10. What can we expect from your live shows?

Rock 'n' roll. 

11. When can we see you live this year?

12th May, The Great Escape Festival in Brighton.
