1. For those who don’t know about you and your music, tell us a little bit about who you are and where you’re from…

Hi my name is Celina Sharma, I was born and raised in Australia but now currently living between England and Los Angeles to pursue my music career as a singer-songwriter.

2. Who/what inspired you to start a career in music?

I grew up watching a lot of Bollywood and Disney movies which influenced me as a child and really sparked my passion for singing, dancing and acting. Some of the artists that really inspired me to follow a career in music were Delta Goodrem, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Jessica Mauboy and Beyonce just to name a few.

3. Tell us about the writing and recording process of your new release…

My debut EP ‘CECE’ was a two-year process. I wanted this project to be perfect, so we spent a lot of time in the studio re-recording and re-writing songs. There are only four songs on this EP and each of them have a different vibe and story which relate to my personal experiences. I had so much fun making the project, it was a process of self discovery and I'm so proud of how it turned out.

4. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

I’ve had so many which I’m grateful for but if I had to choose one I would say having my song in the new Marvel movie ‘Eternals’. I’ve been such a huge Marvel fan since I was a kid so to have been given this opportunity is a childhood dream come true. Watching the film and getting to hear my voice was a special highlight for me.

5. Who would you be your dream collaboration and why?

There are so many amazing artists that I would love to collaborate with but if I had to choose one, it would to be Doja Cat. I’ve been an early fan of her, but Doja’s music has inspired me to experiment with my own music. She’s crazy talented, I love her style and personality!

6. Have you met anyone and been totally starstruck?

When I was at the Marvel ‘Eternals’ premiere I got the chance to meet Chloé Zhao, Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek, and I had a bit of a fangirl moment meltdown! It felt so surreal to be on the same red carpet as these powerful women. I’ll always remember that!

7. If you could only listen to one song on repeat for the rest of time what would it be and why?

One of my all-time favourite songs that I could listen to all the time is a French song ‘Djadja’ by Aya Nakamura. I don’t know why, but this song literally puts me in the happiest mood. Positive vibes!

8. What’s on your playlists that people wouldn’t expect

A lot of people don’t know this about me, but I listen to a lot of international music. From English, Spanish, Hindi, K-pop, Arabic, French, I have a separate playlist for each language. I have a passion for learning languages and learning different cultures around the world. My dream is to hopefully one day have a global tour and perform a bit of a song from each country.

9. What can we expect from your live shows?

Lots of energy and dancing! I love to perform. Recording in the studio is one thing but to sing live is the moment where I finally get the opportunity to connect with fans. As a child I’ve always dreamt of having my own show so I’m super excited to perform for you guys!
