Jonas Blue Started DJ'ing Because "It Was The Coolest Thing To Do" - And We're So Glad He Did
We get to know our MTV PUSH artist for September that little bit better...
Growing up in London on a diet of "a lot of soul, disco and Middle Eastern music", Jonas Blue has now had two UK No.2 chart smashes - 'Fast Car' and 'Perfect Strangers' - and is naturally now reaping the rewards as a jet setting DJ.
As our MTV PUSH artist this month, we're championing the feel good producer all month long, and in our exclusive 'Introducing...' interview we get to know the guy that little bit better...
"I was 11/12 years old when I started to DJ," he revealed. "I was a musician first of all. I got into DJing because that was the coolest thing to do and I've never looked back."
Playing across the globe must have it's drawbacks but Jonas said: "It completely turns your life upside down. You're never at home, never in the studio and having to make music on the road [but] I wouldn't wish it any other way, it's an amazing thing to do.
"I stay up night after night looking at new software, seeing new trends, what music's happening you know you've just got stay constantly connected and that's just something that I do and I think is really important."
As for new music, what's he got in the pipeline? "From what I'm seeing on my social media, people just want music straight away," he explained, "so the best way for me to do that is just to focus on singles for the moment, which I'm really happy with doing and then, yeah, album next year!"
