The winner of MTV's nationwide search to find the most exciting, inspiring, passionate and ambitious student is finally over, with today's (June 28) announcement that MTV Student Of The Year in partnership with Monster's University!

Beating thousands of applicants across the country to secure the three month paid placement at MTV HQ, Newcastle University student, Christian, said:
"I couldn't believe it when I found out I'd won and beaten so many other great students to the prize! It's an opportunity of a lifetime and I can't wait to get started working at MTV in the summer."
Exceeding all the necessary credentials the competition was looking for, Christian impressed the MTV judging panel with his impressive CV that revealed his passion for broadcasting, his marketing expertise, involvement in a host of University societies plus extensive charity fundraising!
SVP and General Manager of MTV UK, Kerry Taylor, stated: "We can't wait to welcome Christian here at our head office where he can develop his already impressive skillset."
Speaking about the overwhelming interest the competition has generated, Taylor added: "We are proud to celebrate the - quite frankly - staggering standard of talent we've witnessed during this competition."
In addition to the three month paid placement, starting on July 1 with MTV Voices, winning student Christian has also won two tickets to this year's MTV EMAin Amsterdam, an Apple iPad mini and a £500 voucher towards a holiday of his choice.
The four runners-up will also receive a one-week work placement and a raft of MTV merchandise.
