The Valleys’ Jenna: “Students Aren’t Scroungers”
Reality star speaks out for hard-working students…
The Valleys, has spoken out in support of MTV’s Student Of The Year competition, saying it’s an “amazing opportunity” for students looking for a break.
Jenna, who has a law degree and was an A-grade student at school, also said that the perception that students are lazy is wrong.
She said: “We work really hard and there’s not many jobs out there. Students deserve a big break. I’ve got a big break from MTV. They’ve given me this amazing opportunity.”
Although she isn’t making use of her law degree at the moment, Jenna said she would recommend anyone go to university because a degree is something they can always fall back on.
She explained: “People are saying why have you bothered going to uni, you’ve wasted all that money and you’re not even using your degree."
“But I would still recommend to anyone go to university. If I knew that a few years ago I was going to end up on this show (The Valleys) I would have still gone to uni, worked hard and got my degree because you never know what’s going to happen.”
She added that uni is a nice experience that forces you to “grow up.”
She commented: “You come from school where you’ve got a teacher over you all the time and you go to this place where you are on your own really, and you’ve got to basically teach yourself.”
“It does make you grow up a lot and it’s a valuable life experience.”
