You've Been Pronouncing 'Zara' Wrong This Whole Time
You might have shopped in high street chain Zara many times over the years, but we bet you didn't know that most of us - and probably you included - have actually ben pronouncing the store's name wrong this whole entire time.
While 'Zara' might seem like a simple enough name to get your mind around, it's actually not quite as easy as you'd think.
Luckily one of the store's communications reps has decided it's time to put us all out of our misery and point out the slightly awkward mistake we've all been making.
You see, being a Spanish brand, the name is actually supposed to be pronounced with a distinct Northern Castilian accent to it, which turns what us English speakers would read as a 'Z' into a softer sound that's more similar to 'tha'. So instead of 'Zara' the name is actually supposed to be more like 'tha-ra'.
