People Are Suing The Company Behind The Kardashians’ Favoured Waist Trainer
If you’ve ever been anywhere near one of the Kardashians’ Instagram feeds, chances are you would’ve stumbled across them one of family raving about waist trainers, which are corsets basically designed to help shrink your waist.
Now though, the company behind the corsets are facing a lawsuit from some customers, who claim the advertising for the product is misleading.
Waist Gang Society, the company behind the product, claim it can burn fat and promote weight loss in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise.
On their website, they write that the waist shaper ‘attacks unwanted fat and impurities within your body’, will ‘strengthen your core’ and improve posture, as well as helping the body ‘rid itself of harsh toxins and impurities’ (through perspiration from thermogenisis).
They also claim that the ‘tight compression will help to reduce food volume intake’.
However, some customers dispute the company's claims, and say, according to court documents reportedly obtained by the Daily Mail Online: “These 'waist trainers' do redistribute fat to other portions of the user's body, thereby creating the perception of a fit and trim waist, however, Defendant claims that the Products actually burn fat and control the user's weight.
“This is completely false and misleading. The Products have absolutely no effect on fat loss of the user.”
The court papers also allegedly claim that the company were aware that they weren’t telling the truth about the product’s weight loss abilities.
