The rockers will play the tiny Teignbridge Den on September 4 and 5 after getting special permission from the local council.

Muse release their latest epic album The Resistance soon after on September 12.

The band said they wanted to avoid the usual London warm up gigs by heading back to their roots.

They had been in talks with the council for weeks- bassist Chris Wolstenholme even attended meetings to help the decision.

Tickets are likely to be given to locals first.

In recent years Muse have headlined Wembley Stadium and festivals including Glastonbury and V so these two gigs will certainly be a different experience for them- and fans!
