Muse Fire Up Wembley Stadium

The Starlight rockers will be the first UK band to light up the new Twin Towers...

Devon rockers Muse have announced they'll be the first British act to play the new 75,000-seater, Wembley Stadium.

The boys confirmed they'll play the whopper of a gig on June 16, 2007 and promised "surprises" and maybe even a "rocket or space ship" on stage depending on what they can get away with according to Health and Safety!

Frontman Matt Bellamy said, "It feels right for us to play this venue. We're ready for this."

The last band to play the stadium were a certain bunch of shaggy-haired rockers who were also lined up to play Wembley this year before the opening was delayed. Speaking to MTV Matt said, "It's great to have a UK band to offset the fact that Bon Jovi were the last band to play here!"

The news tops off a wicked year for the trio - both their album 'Black Holes and Revelations' and its disco-tastic first single 'Super Massive Blackhole' reached No 1.

Keep it here for news on the support acts to be announced soon.
