MTV Gig Highlights Of The Week: Wireless Festival, New Gen Live & More

It’s been a big week…

Team MTV have been tirelessly hitting up the latest gigs yet again this week, and this is what we’ve been up to…

Nicki Minaj, David Guetta & more@ Wireless Festival

Despite the slight issue of Nicki turning up twoand a half hours late, her set still seemed to go down a treat with fans. Surprise performance of the day has to go to Jaden & Willow Smith, who absolutely smashed their joint set on the Capital Xtra stage (which Drake was watching from side of stage!) - July 5

Kendrick Lamar, Avicii & more @ Wireless Festival

While Avicii certainly got Wirelessdancing with his impressive DJ set, we've got to give it up to Kendrick, who had one of the most incredible and responsive crowds we've ever seen. Read more about our review of Saturday at Wireless here. - July 4

Drake @ Wireless Festival

Drake's headlining set has been a long time coming for Wireless, after his last minute cancellation last year. But him and his bulletproof gillet did not disappoint, with the highlight having to be the moment he brought out Skepta to perform Shutdown. - July 3

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds @Calling Festival

In a recent interview with NME, Noel Gallagher stated that playing a festival is about 'just getting up there and giving it 75%'. You’d think that this was a bad thing, but if what we saw at Calling was Noel at75%, then he doesn’t need to give anymore! - July 5

Robert DeLong @ Birthdays

An absolutelyout of this worldperformance from RobertDeLongatBirthdays on Thursday. Completely immersive and intoxicating ANDkept the crowd going.Took the setfrom awestrucktodance frenzied madness in seconds, over and over again. - July 2

Misty Miller @Notting Hill Arts Club

Wow,Misty Miller was captivating at Notting Hill Arts Club -you had to be there. There was no denying her hold on the crowd once she got going. - July 1

New Gen Live @The Nest

On Tuesdaynight #NewGenLive took over Birthdays in Dalston for a sold out event, showcasing the best New Generation grime and rap talent in London. Including the likes of Stormzy (who had just stepped off the plane from his BET Award win!), Bonkaz, Renz, TE, A2, Avelino andmore. - June 30
