Snoop Dogg Gives Props To Iggy Azalea And Macklemore

Rapper appears to have buried the hatchet after last year's feud...

Iggy Azalea's social media feud with Snoop Dogg was one of last year's most-memorable celebrity beefs, but it seems that's all water under the bridge for the rappers now.

Snoop caused a Twitterstorm last year when he unflatteringly compared Iggy to a character from White Chicks - leading to a stinging rebuke from the Aussie star.

But now he's come out on her side against haters who criticise her for appropriating "black culture" with her take on hip-hop.

Speaking to the New York Times, the 43-year-old veteran said: "Rap is supposed to grow. One thing about Iggy and Macklemore - they got soul.

"They're inspired by hip-hop. I don't care how you're gonna take it to your people and flip it and dip it and serve it."

And speaking about his forthcoming album Bush - Snoop admitted he'd been feeling the funk.

"There’s a void for that style of music," he explained.

"I think if rap never came out, I'd have been a R&B singer. I would have been like Rick James, though — an edgy renegade."

He also got political when asked about the civic unrest in Baltimore, which he's been referencing on social media.

"You've got Bloods and Crips and Muslims now uniting for some kind of cause," he enthused.

"Despite that man losing his life, so many people are gonna come together behind that — people who wouldn't have talked, who would have been killing each other, now they're gonna be with each other."
