During her mixtape days, Nicki Minaj’s image was slightly more ‘street’ than edgy high fashion. But since signing to Young Money and unleashing her material to the rest of the world, the Queens rapper no longer feels the need to hold back and now lets all her different sides and personalities shine through.

In the latest issue of V Magazine, the 26-year-old star candidly speaks about her self-discovery and how she’s the boss of her own style and brand:

“I just always want to do ‘me’, but ‘me’ changes every day,” Minaj explains. “I would crumple up and die if I had to wake up and be the same person every day. I don’t silence those voice anymore. I just let them speak.”

She continued: “Everything I do has been approved by me personally. My team is mostly made up of guys, but none of them would ever think about telling me what to wear or what to do with my hair. They know that ultimately I am going to do what I’m gonna do.”
