Beyoncé has revealed that she is "proud" that her daughter is growing up in a world where there are several strong women. The R&B singer and her husband, Jay-Z - who welcomed their first child, Blue Ivy, in January - are determined to see their child grow up to be a fearless, independent woman...
The 31-year-old star, who has always shown support for strong women through her beautiful music, wrote an open letter to Michelle Obama on Beyonce.com website, in which she praises her for being a fantastic role model.
Hip-hop’s famous couple are big supporters of President Barack Obama, and recently attended a fundraiser in his honour. Beyoncé has been impressed with how Michelle has been able to juggle raising two daughters along with living in the public eye.
She wrote: "Michelle is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman. She is a caring mother, she’s a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the FIRST LADY! No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope, she’s humble, loving and sincere. Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that you do for us. I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to."
