After many rumours and much speculation, it has now been revealed that Nicki Minaj will be joining the American Idol judge’s panel alongside Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban. Nicki and musician Keith will replace previous judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, who left the show after season 11…
Mike Darnell, Fox’s president of alternative entertainment, said: “With an unparalleled star like Mariah, fan-favourite Randy, chart-toppers like Nicki and Keith and our incomparable host Ryan, we’ve put together one of the most exciting judging panels around.
“It's really an honour to have been invited to be a part of the American Idol family… I'm looking forward to working with everyone and to seeing the same passion that I have for music in all of the participants.”
The news comes in the wake of Nicki’s latest single ‘The Boys’ featuring Cassie, which was unveiled after the announcement that the rapper would be releasing a new LP entitled ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up’.
