Mutya To Go Solo
Former Sugababe plans solo career just weeks after quitting band...
Mutya Buena is planning a solo career " just four weeks after sensationally quitting the Sugababes.
The 20-year-old, who gave birth to daughter Tahlia last March, quit the band after seven years in the spotlight, citing "personal reasons". In a statement on the band's website at the time she said: "I've enjoyed an unbelievable career so far and I'm so proud of what we've achieved with Sugababes over the years. My decision to leave the band at this point is based purely on my personal reasons. It was very difficult but definitely not a snap decision."
But now the singer is apparently already planning her solo comeback. A source told The Daily Mirror: "Mutya is going solo. She's in talks with Island Records, who look after the Sugababes, to sort out a deal. Then it will be all go."
When Mutya announced she was leaving the band in December fans were devastated " but their record label was quick to announce her replacement, 21-year-old Amelle Berrabah. Sugababes now have just one founding member remaining in Keisha Buchanan as Heidi Range was drafted in after Siobhan Donaghy quit the group in 2001.
