Nadine Coyle Subtitled For US TV

ANTM bosses feared Nadine's Irish twang might baffle viewers...

Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle has been living in LA since the girl band last performed in 2009 but it seems her accent remains as strong as ever.

The Irish singer, who hails from Derry, had to have subtitles when she appeared on US TV because producers feared audiences would struggle to understand her.

Nadine joined Tyra Banks as a special guest on America's Next Top Model, in which half the aspiring models are British and half are American.

Mentoring the Brits through a music video challenge, Nadine offered expert tips and guidance but ANTM bosses insisted on subtitling her advice in order to help US viewers understand her Irish brogue.

It's not the first time a British star has had problems Stateside. Singing sensation Susan Boyle was briefly subtitled when she appeared on Oprah Winfrey, allowing audiences to grow accustomed to her accent.

There was also rumoured to be some concern about Cheryl Cole's Geordie twang prior to her debut on The X Factor USA.

Thankfully, Nadine will have no such problem with her bandmates. She recently [uuid=643525a9-db3c-45c4-ade9-ce33f48b9efb]reunited with Girls Aloud[/uuid] in London where it is thought the long-awaited comeback tour was discussed.
