Dappy Films Alternative Christmas Message
And N-Dubz clash with grime MCs at festive bash…
A sneak preview of Dappy’s alternative Christmas Day speech has been released ahead of the big day.
The N-Dubz star donned a sharp grey suit and plenty of bling to address the nation, with his focus being the strength of the British music industry in 2010.
"The UK music scene is the strongest it has been for many years and recognised as being the most important in the world right now. I am happy that N-Dubz are a part of that movement,” he said. “Our culture is still admired and emulated by people right over the globe, and rightly so.”
The rapper also thanked Prince William and Kate Middleton – who he called Katie – for giving us all an extra bank holiday next year. “You can’t say that the royal family don’t do nothing for us.”
Dappy’s full Christmas message will be aired on Channel 4 at 10.20am on Christmas Day.
But it’s not all mince pies and mulled wine for N-Dubz, as earlier this week they were involved in an altercation with grime MCs Ghetts and Lil Nasty at a Christmas party at the Inc Club at London’s O2 Arena.
The Sun quoted an onlooker as saying: "N-Dubz arrived at the after-party with an entourage. The DJ played two of their tracks back to back. A few of the grime guys didn't like it. They told the DJ to turn it off and it started kicking off with the family and friends of N-Dubz and the grime lot.
"Security stepped in before police were called."
