N-Dubz Dropped By US Record Label

Def Jam lets the group go after a series of rows…

N-Dubz have been dropped by their American label The X Factor USA, and his replacements wanted the Morning Star group to head in a more poppy direction in a bid to break the US charts.

Now Dappy has lashed out at the label and said it was the Camden trio themselves who instigated the split. “They might say they've dropped us but we were never going to co-operate with them when they decided to change what we are,” he said.

“If we had co-operated we would still be signed. But I stuck my finger up at them when they wanted us to make another Being N-Dubz TV show,” Dappy claimed. “Tulisa thought we should do it because we could make some money out of it, but I said no.”

The I Need You rapper said the label had initially loved the group when they saw them perform in London a couple of years ago. “They should've stuck with the band they came to see at the Shepherd's Bush Empire. For them to say they dropped us makes me angry because we just didn't want to change who we are or what we do. We're not just a silly bunch of pop tarts,” he said.
